Yokohama. Historically, it was the port of entry for many into Japan--including the Chinese. It's also home to the largest slum area in Japan, a place where the homeless and downtrodden are pushed into.

I'm always interested in the lesser known people and places of a country. In Japan, that's Chinese and Korean Japanese, who due to marginalization often became members of the Yakuza. Failing that, they joined the silent ranks of the homeless, who often gathered in the same neighborhoods.

Joining me to visit the different communities would be Alyssa/Anming from the Oriental Pearl channel. Which is good, because she speaks much better Japanese. Even Small Brained American somehow turned up again in Osaka.

This was gonna be an interesting trip..
